GDP growth stood at 8.6% during the 1st half of 2008, this is on the back of a record-breaking growth factor of 8.9% during the 2nd Quarter of 2008. According to the Minster of Economy and Finances, Varujan Vosganian, both figures for growth have set new records.
The Minister added that Romania’s macro-economic goal is to rank 7th in the EU economy-wise, down from its current 17th place, the projections being based on the historical growth rhythm and investment dynamics.
